I grow over 300 varieties of dahlias. A rule in the dahlia world is to NEVER buy these bags of imported tubers because of high rates of mislabeled varieties, damage resulting in tubers that are not viable, and the high risk of disease. I decide to risk it and bought one bag simply because this is a particularly high demand variety – but keep it quarantined away from any of my others. (Honestly , this isn’t even a variety that I find pretty.) There was ONE salvageable tuber on a clump that had around 8 individual tubers. I potted it and hoped for the best. It’s growing and appears to be healthy. Should have blooms soon. Hopefully it’s blooms true to variety.
